In our boutique we strive to deliver perfection in terms of the services and products offered. To achieve this, we invite only renowned suppliers of fabrics to cooperate with us, guaranteeing the highest quality of material. One of these brands is the Italian house Ermenegildo Zegna, which we wrote about in the previous issue of our blog. Ferala is the only boutique in Luxembourg offering Zegna fabrics in made-to-measure clothing, and we realize that this is a huge privilege.
To celebrate our several years of cooperation, we organized an intimate event, the main guest of which was Paolo Russo, the sales manager of Zegna fabrics for the European market. It was a great opportunity to spend time with our clients and introduce them to the world of Zegna with the participation of a representative of the brand. The evening's participants had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with new collections, learn about the technical properties of some fabrics and seek information directly from Paolo. The event was graced by a tasting of Italian wine and Cuban cigars.
The main goal of the meeting was to get to know the Ermenegildo Zegna brand, its philosophy and the values it professes, which are very close to ours. This emblematic brand combines over a hundred years of tradition with modern technologies and its goal is constant development. In a world of fast consumption, Zegna stands guard over the quality and respect of the raw material, starting from the animal that provides the fleece. Wool, obtained mostly from Australian sheep, comes from the best farms and the most assorted animals. The fleece is subject to strict selection to obtain the lightest and longest fibers, thanks to which the wool will be distinguished by its delicacy, purity of color and durability. During the event, guests had the opportunity to touch the raw material and feel the delicacy of 12-micron wool, as well as cashmere and vicuña fleece. It should be noted that Zegna is practically the only manufacturer capable of producing incredibly fine wool, and the crown of its craftsmanship and technology is the 10Milmil10 collection, offering a material woven from fibers with a diameter of 10 microns. To create this unique collection, consisting of just a few color cards, the brand selects the best animals that win trophies in competitions for the best fleece in Australia. We are talking about just a few sheep per year, so it takes about 5 years to create one 10Milmil10 Zegna collection. Our guests had the unique opportunity to see the compilation during the evening and learn about the history behind its creation.
Another element of the soirée was the presentation of materials from vicuña, called in South America the wool of the gods. Zegna presented a wonderful collection composed of vicuña cloth for luxurious coats, jackets and suits, which is a pinnacle of the technological achievements of this brand. In addition to discovering the prestigious Ermenegildo Zegna Cloth collections, those invited had the opportunity to see next year's spring/summer collection in order to place a presale order. The materials to choose from included wool, silk, linen, cotton and blends of these fibers, presented in the album Anteprima, Cross Ply, Cotton and Tropical.
The most important point of the meeting was undoubtedly the opportunity to talk to Paolo, who introduced us to the world of Ermenegildo Zegna in an interesting and fascinating way. Despite such a long history and respect for traditional craftsmanship, the brand is extremely avant-garde and looking to the future, investing in the latest technologies. Understanding today's environmental challenges, Zegna has been working to reduce its carbon footprint for many years. Planting forests, recycling water used in wool production, upcycling wool fiber scraps, and respecting the animals that provide the fleece are just some of the values it espouses. It is also a possibility to trace the origin of the wool to assure the end consumer that their suit has not caused harm to an animal. All this means that Ermenegildo Zegna materials are currently considered the least polluting, while at the same time their beauty and exclusivity put them at the forefront among textile manufacturers. That is why we were proud to present this brand to our clients and we hope that this cooperation will continue to develop over the years. If you would like to discover it with us, don’t hesitate to contact us.
