Every alteration is carried out with the same artisanal techniques we use for our bespoke tailoring. Appointments are booked online, with a fitting at the atelier.

A suit alteration should never be an afterthought. That belief led us to open a dedicated alteration atelier on the upper floor of our boutique at 30 rue Notre-Dame, in the heart of Luxembourg City. Two couturières work there, each bringing more than 25 years of experience in high-end alterations. Their mission, and ours: give every garment the fit it should have had from the start.
Unlike a standard alteration service, we apply the same standards to ready-to-wear garments as we do to our made-to-measure tailoring. A jacket that sits poorly, trousers that are too long, a coat with sleeves that run over the hands: we treat every intervention as a precision adjustment, not a simple correction.

Opening this atelier is not just one more service, it's a decision we made to offer our clients a new standard of quality. We wanted to take ownership of every alteration ourselves, from the first fitting to the final finish, to guarantee a result that matches our own bespoke standards.
In practice, this means every piece that leaves our atelier is personally checked by us before it's returned. We don't simply correct a garment: we check the line, the drape, and the symmetry, to make sure the alteration stays invisible and the garment regains its full elegance.
This new way of working also lets us move faster, particularly for the bespoke pieces we make for our clients: final fittings are now completed more quickly, right on site. We've also introduced an express alteration service for the tuxedos and morning coats we offer for hire, to handle last-minute changes before a wedding or an evening event.
Which Garments Can You Have Altered at Our Atelier?
We work across the full menswear and womenswear wardrobe, whether your piece comes from us or another house:
- Jackets and blazers: shortening a suit jacket, taking in the waist, shoulder adjustments, sleeve alterations
- Coats: hemming a lined coat, taking in the waist, sleeve alterations
- Shirts: waist adjustments, cuff and collar alterations
- Suit trousers: hand or machine hemming, widening or narrowing suit trousers, waist and seat adjustments
We also take in women's tailored suits, skirts, and waistcoats, to the same finishing standards.
How Much Does a Suit Alteration Cost With Us?
Our pricing depends on the nature of the intervention. Here is an overview of the most common alterations:
- Trousers: simple hem from €25, waist adjustment from €38
- Jacket: sleeve adjustment from €55, waist adjustment from €50
- Shirt: sleeve adjustment from €30, side adjustment from €38
- Skirt: shortening or lengthening from €45, waist adjustment from €45

Do You Need to Have Bought Your Suit From Us to Get It Altered?
No. We welcome garments bought in-store as well as suits, coats, shirts, and womenswear from other houses. We give every garment the same level of care, regardless of where it was purchased, with the precision of a bespoke tailoring house. This reflects the craftsmanship we describe on our savoir-faire page, where artisanal standards always come before the label.
How Do You Book an Alteration Appointment?
Appointments are booked directly online, through the same booking space we use for our made-to-measure tailoring appointments. Simply select "RDV Retouches chez Atelier FERALA" when booking. We welcome you Tuesday to Friday, 10am to 7pm, and Saturday 10am to 7pm by appointment only.
