WRAP YOURSELF IN LUXURY WITH THE HIGHEST QUALITY WOOL FROM ERMENEGILDO ZEGNA

Ferala Team

The last series of articles were dedicated to Ermenegildo Zegna cloth, as well as the presentation of this famous Italian hallmark. By presenting several suits made for members of our team, we wanted to show the multifunctionality and beauty of these fabrics. Thanks to this, we may be able to convince some of you to step into the exclusive world of Zegna and start a fascinating adventure.

In today's edition of our blog, we will focus primarily on the presentation of fabrics from the Trofeo and Trofeo Cashmere collections. The first one proposes a worsted wool made from the finest Australian super-fine fibers, smooth to the touch and with an appearance that exudes the utmost elegance. It’s the perfect match for bespoke suits. The Trofeo wool needs to meet the highest requirements such as: average fineness of 16 microns, the longest fibers to guarantee durability and smoother feeling till the evenness amongst fibers. In order to obtain such selected fibers, Zegna takes care of the raw material from the first stages of its production. The attention to detail does not end there, because the design and weaving process is supervised by extremely experienced craftsmen. Attention to traditional craftsmanship is combined with technological innovation to create a fabric that meets strict requirements and is at the same time the quintessence of Italian chic.

Trofeo fabrics were created with attention to traditional textile manufacture combined with innovation to present materials tailored for active people who value comfort and take care of every aspect of their clothing. To meet the demand for this type of fabric all year round, Ermenegildo Zegna has introduced Trofeo Winter and Trofeo Cashmere, perfect for winter suits. The following proposals come from this latest collection and are a great example of how elegance is combined with multifunctionality. Both Xavier and Christophe chose to sew their outfits in a blend of the finest Australian wool and cashmere to enjoy the extraordinary softness of the material while retaining warmth in colder days.

Let's take a look at Xavier's suit who opted for a brown with widely spaced blue stripes. This is a rather extravagant combination, but the effect is incredible and the warm shade of brown reflects the colors of autumn. Due to the double-breasted jacket, the obvious choice was a peak lapel collar. The character of the whole piece is added by hand-stitching on the fronts of the jacket and collar. To make the ensemble look more sporty, Xavier put on a denim shirt, the tone of which matches the color of the stripes of the suit. An Italian tie with a mix of burgundy and blue perfectly complements this effortless outfit.

The common feature of Xavier and Christophe's made to measure creations are the stripes. This classic motif has been brilliantly translated into a more modern design by Zegna. It is primarily the wide spacing of the stripes and the bold choice of colors of this pattern. In the case of Christophe's suit, it is a combination of gray and beige, which gives an interesting, innovative style. The jacket has a rather classic cut and is finished with a smalto collar and simple flap pockets. When it comes to pleated trousers, Christophe decided to eliminate belt loops and insert side adjusters to obtain more vintage look.

In the case of both outfits, the jackets can also function as a blazer and be worn in a more sporty way when paired with jeans (Xavier's jacket) or beige chinos (Christoph's jacket). This multifunctionality is supported by the flannel texture of the fabric as well as by bold patterns. Depending on whether the whole is complemented by an elegant shirt or, for example, a turtleneck, the style of the outfit will go from timeless elegance to a sporty look. However, in combination with the exclusiveness of the fabric, the ensemble will always look impeccable and neat.
